Diabetic neuropathy is a kind of nerve damage that happens as a result of a complication of a diabetic condition. High blood sugar can lead to damage to the peripheral nerves in the upper and lower extremities. Symptoms of diabetic neuropathy can include pain and numbness  in one’s hands and feet as well as problems in one’s digestive system. Diabetic neuropathy is often painful.
